Mike Eakins

Mike is currently the CEO of Retirement Solutions and Asset Management, and Group Chief Investment Officer for Phoenix Group. Phoenix Group is the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement provider with over £290bn of Assets under Administration, on behalf of over 12 million customers.

Mike is responsible for leading all of the investment functions within the Phoenix Group, but with particular focus on investing the Phoenix balance sheet to back annuity liabilities, achieving long run investment returns for customers and developing a best-in-class investment operating platform.

Prior to the acquisition of ReAssure by Phoenix in July 2020, Mike was ReAssure’s Group CIO.

Prior to joining ReAssure in May 2019, Mike was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he spent over 14 years undertaking a variety of client facing roles. Mike started his GS career in FIG M&A, but spent the majority of his time at GS in the Securities Division, where he ran UK Interest Rate Sales and their European Pension and Insurance Solutions businesses. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mike qualified as an Actuary with EY.
