Mike Chappell
Head of Origination, Private MarketsMike is the Head of Origination at Future Growth Capital, responsible for sourcing and structuring private market investment opportunities. He plays a central role in developing FGC’s private debt strategy and leads the UK direct deal team.
Mike joined FGC in October 2024 from Phoenix Group, where he was Head of Private Markets and CIO of Phoenix Reinsurance in Bermuda. At Phoenix, Mike led a team of 15 across Real Assets (Infrastructure & Real Estate), Private Credit and Alternatives, originating £1.5 billion in private asset deals annually.
Prior to joining Phoenix, Mike was a Managing Director and Industry Head for Infrastructure, Energy, and Construction at Lloyds Banking Group. Under his leadership, Lloyds’ Infrastructure and Energy team was ranked the UK’s #1 team by deal volume according to Dealogic.
Mike holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, is an Associate Member of Corporate Treasurers, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
